A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typo. The drawback of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you have a Linux shared hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you delete the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to create a catch-all e-mailbox without difficulty even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve set up with your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you’ve already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not need this feature any longer, you can remove it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
